Miki said she wants to do her best to encourage the victims in her homeland.
But the news reports that she confessed she feels her body a bit numb at the moment so that she might not go for the 3-3.
Cheers Miki !!! Show us you can overcome anything !! I'm a bit worried, but I'm sure Miki will skate a beautiful program! I'm off to school now, too bad I can't watch the short program! Go Miki!

| Miki is 2nd with only a narrow margin from the top finish Yuna !!!
And her skating was SO beautiful !!
Miki and Alissa were the two most impressive to me tonight, but everyone did really well.
Go Miki with the Grieg Piano Concerto tomorrow !!!

Go Miki with the Grieg Piano Concerto tomorrow !!! I feel the same, for me Alissa and Miki gave the best performance last night. Any news on Miki program today, will she go for 3-3? Does she feel better with her body? I hope she can skate after Yuna so she can see what strategy to be used, but she got to skate first, I'm so nervous for her. Now it only one program left, Miki please show them what you have done all season and make the judge can't resist to give you the title. Go Miki!!!!EDT: I just read that Miki doesn't like to skate first from Golden skae report, I hope she will overcome the wall agian tonight and end up as the champion!

| Wow. Miki's SP was beautiful. It was really a special moment. I was especially impressed by the flow going into and out of the jumps.
I also liked Alissa's and Miki's programs the best. Both had something really special... Yuna's was much better than what I had heard it was, but still I disagree with the placement and the GOEs that she got.
Mao... *sigh* I LOVE YOU! Show them in the free today! I heard that she lost 10 pounds since the earthquake..!? Aww I'm so worried for her. Personally I like her LP better than her SP. I think it brings out her artistic side better. But I think it was terribly wrong to put her in 7th place...
I hope Miki feels better today and gives it all she's got. I'm so proud of her... After 2 Olympics and a lot of ups and downs she's still going strong. Stronger than ever!

| Congratulations to Miki on her 2nd world title. I'm so happy for her and I'm glad that she won over Yuna since she got unfair placement to Yuna in the SP. It's so sad that Mao did not make to podium Here are some Miki pix! Enjoy!!! | |

| Congratulations, Miki! Before the competition ended I sort of wished for the repeat of the Worlds 2007 podium - well, at least I got one place right! I really enjoyed Miki's performances, especially the short program. I wish Miki went for 3S-3L, but with Shin Amano on the panel staying away from 3-3s was probably a smart idea. The judging during the ladies event was really head-scratch-inducing. | |

| YES!! CONGRATULATIONS, MIKI !!! Me too I was really moved by her SP and couldn't help tears coming to my eyes. And her Grieg Piano Conserto sure had one stepout, but her passion here was the strongest of this season. Miki said in the interview that she was performing this time for her country and not for herself, and this makes me feel so proud of her. I wonder what she'll perform in the exhibition gala. Hope it's Aranjuez Mon Amour ... BTW thank you always Rezev for the images. | |

| I'm soooooo happy!!!! I was extremely nervous before Miki's perfomance and couldn't relax until Yu-na finished her programme. I'm glad I was able to see Miki's free skate for the second time this season. Unfortunately I couldn't be at the ice palace yesterday and watched her short programme on tv. Irina Slutskaya commentated competitions for Russian TV and praised Miki so much. | |

I've seen Miki three times. At the Cup of Russia 2009 and 2010 and now at the World Championhips 2011.
You know, she is like from the other planet, such a beauty in everything. And I'm glad Miki's got ovations for her perfomances in my country and gold medals, of course!
A friend of mine saw her short programme live and she said it was impossible to breath while watching Miki skating. As for me, I even wanted to leave the arena and then to return after Miki's free skate. So nervous I was. Fortunately I was persuaded to stay, I kept my fingers crossed while Miki was on the ice. I know, it was not the best skate but nevertheless it was wonderful.
Miki said she was crying all days during the World Championships. Here's her interview to Russian journalist. http://winter.sport-express.ru/figureskating/reviews/13556/

| I have a question to Japanese fans. Miki said that Japanese figure skating federation didn't support her in 2007-2009. And what about present time? Does she feel any support from the Federation, not only from her fans? | |

| Thank you for the link and the photos, tusjka!!
I think Miki's non-native English was mis-transcripted and then re-interpreted by the writer of the article.
It seems to me that Miki only contrasted the 08 and the 09 situations. These two cases IMO derives from some simple misunderstandings between JSF and Morozov. In March 08 Miki didn't want to withdraw prior to the LP, while Morozov wanted her to withdraw and JSF stayed sort of neutral. In March 09 JSF was overly concerned of the ISU rule changes putting more weight on transitions.
BTW Miki always has had financial support from the federation up till this day.
