| wow, SmileFan! Thank you for the great thread! 1. When did you see Miki for the first time? Actually, I did not remember... but I think it was sometime in 2004 on TV. Since I was not a big fan of figure skating at that time, I really did not recall what the program was or what the competition was. 2. Especially what do you like about Miki? First, I do love her beautiful skating. The second comes her personality. She is weak and strong. She cries and smiles. She is a lovely girl all the time. 3. What is your favorite programme that Miki has skated to?2005/2006 SP Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence This amazing program moved me profoundly. For me, it is a masterpiece forever. Gorgeous music, choreography and so beautiful upper body movements...I fell in love with her artistry and musicality. In particular, I love her performance at the Cup of Russia in 2005. All the jumps she executed were absolutely high and effortless; what is more, she looked so happy!! 4. Which part of Miki`s programmes do you especially like?Hmm....it is very difficult for me to answer. I like her storing jumps, gorgeous spirals and steps, her lovely spins, expression and musicality...but still, I must say it is the quadruple Salchow she attempted at the Grand Prix Final this season. Although you know, it was downgraded, the fact that she tried and landed cleanly just made me cry. I will never forget it! | |

| 1. When did you see Miki for the first time? 01 December Japan Nationals; Miki was still too young to compete at senior Worlds, but she skated 7 triple program to Swan Lake which blew everybody away. The judges only ranked her third! but IMHO she was the Champion!
2. Especially what do you like about Miki? Quite simply her spectacular jumps. I remember legendary Midori Ito skating, but IMHO Miki really is the only one who can rival Midori at her prime. Her presentation and artistry is improving every year, too!
3. What is your favorite programme that Miki has skated to? 01-02 Season Swan Lake LP is still amazing. It was an honor to be part of Standing Ovation for 07 Worlds SP and LP, 07 Japan Nationals LP. My personal favorite would be "firebird", specifically 05 Worlds(Moscow) Qualifying Round.
4. Which part of Miki`s programmes do you especially like? I like and respond to the emotional honesty of her programs, which really does remind me of Midori Ito. When she is ON, she is on fire, but sometimes it just does not happen. But I will always applaud and support Miki Ando!!

| 1. I saw her skate live at Skate America in Everett, Washington, but I did not get to meet her.
2. She has a wonderful smile.
3. My favorite program was "I Believe" by Ayaka, when she skated her exhibition after she won Worlds. However, I love the version by Hayley Westenra better, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrPOaT6Y9Q8
4. I like her footwork sequences.

| 1. When did you see Miki for the first time? 2006 Olympics -- even as a newbie skating fan, and even with the problems she was having, I saw something special there. I first was a Sasha Cohen fan, but after seeing that I had a new favourite.
2. Especially what do you like about Miki? She tries hard and takes risks-- she doesn't play it safe. One example I think that illustrates this is her willingness to come up with an entirely different free program last season for the Grand Prix finale when it turned out that she was skating to the same piece of music ('Giselle') as Yukari Nakano (I assume that's what happened-- I don't know any inside information other than what I saw on icenetwork). Also-- seeing her on that game show was an unexpected and enjoyable look into her off-ice personality.
3. What is your favorite programme that Miki has skated to? Her free skate to Mendelssohn's "Violin Concerto" -- her 'comeback' from the Olympics. I had the 2007 World's on my DVR for a long time and rewatched it SO many times.
4. Which part of Miki`s programmes do you especially like? She always puts all of herself into everything she does. Her jumps is where this is most apparant, but her footwork and other elements are also fantastic.
