Miki says here that
- Russia/Latvia is confortable for her
- she doesn't get much fatigue anymore from travelling back and forth (got used to it)
- that she is starting to speak in Russian with her teammate Voronov while he's learning English from Miki
- she feels she can get to spend everyday life in simple Russian language in a year

There are many other things she says here that show her deep and keen observations on cultural differences between Japan and the rest of the world, but plz google for now, bc I have to go out for the moment ...

It's so nice to know Miki is enjoying Russia and Latvia and to know she's teaching Sergei how to speak English!

At FSU, I asked some help with the identification of the song Miki was skating to, and someone said it was Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 16.

Miki talks of her training days in US, Russia, and Latvia,
the differences in everday life,
and that she wishes to be a coach in future and a rather strict one (!).

Also, she says she doesn't feel tired after travelling a lot any more.

Miki was in the audience at NHK in all disciplines,
watching the games either with Yukina Ota, Morozov, her elder friend Miki Sone, Amodio, Chris Reed, etc.
Miki will be in Nagoya till CoC.
Chukyo University arena is crowded with skaters so she will mostly train elsewhere.

By the way, is Miki Sone still competing?

Miki Sone retired after Nats 08/09.
She skated there with heavy pain in her hip joint.

She is the spiritual elder sister to Miki Ando.

Thanks guys!! Its good to be back: I missed everyone. This is the #1 place for Miki news. Miki's our girl. Yeah, I kinda took a break after the season ended then some summer courses to speed things up:x No more breaks. Anyway looking forward to reading all the Miki news and seeing the cool pics you guys find and put up. I went back over to Rezev's Mao forum to, its a cool place. I thought Miki was in Russia; I wonder what her thoughts were when she saw Mao implode? China = Miki Gold.

Miki is leaving France today. To Russia or to Japan we don't know yet.
I bet on the latter 'cause it's closer to Beijing. Team Morozov usually trains in the closer rink to the next competition.

Miki tweeted some 20 minutes ago that she landed in Japan.

ETA: Now the tweet was about 5 hours ago, and about 2 and half hours ago she wrote on her fansite that she is home in Nagoya.

She says the two french bulldogs that she and her brother keep together are now comforting her though they are asleep.

She also wrote the airplane trip was a bit stressfull to her pulled muscle in her back but that now its okay at home.

Cool Sorcerer. REST Miki REST. Miki (gold), Kanako and Akiko on the GPF podium in China is my dream. Fingers crossed. The Miki Victory Tour continues...........

Miki has changed her SP music to Gabriel's Oboe and The Falls, from The Mission soundtrack, by Ennio Morricone and performed by Yo-Yo Ma.

I must admit it's good news because the new one will be better received IMO.

Personally I liked the Nuttin' suite! And the biker costume!
But I'm 100% sure Miki will look FAB in her next SP dress.

Shre's got new SP music? Awesome! I'd love to have Miki's autographed training jacket but Im sure its going for the big bucks as indicated by Sorcerer. Wouldn't Ebay get worldwide bids & even more money? I think its pretty cool that Miki is helping out in Haiti. She's a good woman off the ice as well as on. We eagerly await her victory at the GPF. Pins & Needles.

Hello, cooper88 !!

First of all, I'm quite sure Miki doesn't know whether she'll go to 4CC or not.
Yes, her coach mentioned 4CC regarding Miki's training prospect, so Miki doesn't intend to avoid going to 4CC like she and Nobu did last year.
However, it's the JSF who decides who to go to 4CC, Worlds, or WTT.
It'll all be decided on the last day of Japanese Nationals.

So if Miki goes to 4CC, the possibility is high that she will stay in Japan all the way till Worlds .
If she doesn't go to 4CC then I think she'll go back to Latvia after Nats.

BTW, Miki is probably now on the night plane heading back to Japan, according to her tweets.
